Dr. Bill Eberle (Assistant Professor of Computer Science) will introduce some basic data mining techniques from the area of classification and prediction. This seminar will also serve as the initial meeting of a new machine learning/data mining reading group. The group will meet approximately every other week to discuss and review research papers. The research area on which the group focuses will change each semester. This semester, the focus will be on classification and prediction techniques. You are encouraged to attend the presentation regardless of your interest in the reading group.
